Move to 1st Party Data

Although Google have delayed the deprecation of 3rd Party Cookie support in their Chrome browser, it is still vitial to migrate over to using 1st Party Data (FPD) as soon as possible. With 1st Party Data you can make use of Enhanced Conversion Tracking, but securely sharing an encrypted identifier for consented users with Google (and other marketing platforms). If the user is also using Google platform AND has consented, then Conversions can be linked to Search or Ad engagement without the use of cookies.

To make best use of Enhanced Conversion Tracking, you should focus on the value to the user by providing a strong clear and transparant benefit for creating an account and logging back into the site on returning visits. For example, by creating an account if us we can offer you the following benefits. By consenting to personalised advertising, we're able to show you more relevant advertisments for things that you may actually be interested in. This also allows us to optimise our advertising meaning that we can reduce our costs and pass those savings onto our customers.

The EU's Digital Marketing Act is now active

As part of the introduction of the European Union's Digital Marketing Act, Google now require that all GA4 and Google Marketing Platform data include consent signals. This is acheived by implemeting Google's ConsentMode V2 feature, and is now a mandatory requirement.

Sean Burton (CEO & Founder of Analyt) will be speaking at Digital Union's UX Day 2014 at the CastleGate in Newcastle on the 9th October 2014.
Titled 'CX & Data: Measuring experience', the talk discusses why many companies spend a significant amount on digital marketing, but only a small fraction invest in making sure that this money is well spent. Digital analytics and Customer Experience (CX) go hand-in-hand to help solve this problem, by allowing business to find and fix pain points as well as finding hidden gems that improve experience and increase revenue.

We've made some improvements to our site:
Device specific layout: content will now format more cleanly for smartphone users, without the requirement to zoom in

Mobile navigation: Along with the above, we've changed the nagivation for smartphone users, and have added a menu icon on the top right - even when you scroll!

Blog comments: Now whenever you post a comment on any of the blogs, you'll see a preview! Note that comments are subject to moderation and so your comment will only be visible to you until it has been approved.

Security: The site now uses SSL across the board and so when you submit a comment on a blog or use the contact form it is all sent securely.
